Crochet Scarves

Filed under: Crochet and Crafts — dawn @ 1:14 am

I recently finished two projects. Actually one was finished while I was in PA for my Dads funeral and the other just after I got home, but I forgot about them for a little while. As I left home I forgot to grab my scarf, I was just a tad distracted, and when I arrived in NY I had alot of sitting time. I decided that I would keep my fingers moving and make myself a useful scarf in the process.

This scarf actually has a little hood built into it…my loverly daughter is modeling it for me…

I got this idea from a throw that I saw while in NY. While working on it, to make a throw, I thought that it might also look nice as a scarf.

Both of these scarfs have been added to the Crochet Blankets of the Craft Shoppe.

I love the yarn on the top one. What was the brand and color…if you don’t mind me asking. Oh, and I love both of the scarves. Good use of time! I started one for my daughter on the drive home from Denton on Monday. If I can find a few more hours in my day, I’ll be able to finish it. ;)

The top one was made with “Sensations ~ Rainbow Bounce” - from Joanns, and a plain old off white yarn. The Sensations is really thin, so the regular yarn helps to make it warm as well as easier to work with. The bottom one was made with “Red Heart” the Ocean color. I like them both alot. I know what you mean about time…I had so much of it when I was away and now I have so little now that I am home.

Great scarves! I knitted one a similar colour to the first one, but I ran out of yarn before I could make the fringe lol

LOL…that is funny, I would be out the door and at the store in a heartbeat if that happened to me.

Wow! They’re really beautiful. I just learned to knit this year and plan on learning crochette next. They really make the most incredible yarns now. It’s hard to decide what to buy. And I’m learning the hard way that not all yarns are good for all projects. Also, I have to learn how to buy the right amount! Always too much or too little!
Have a Happy New Year!
Peace…………..

I usually dont get a whole lot of the fancy yarns, but I did on this occasion. I just love the scarves
Good luck with learning to Crochet. I can’t get my fingers to figure out knitting…so I am just going to stick with crochet
Happy New Years to you, as well.

The scarfs are lovely - well done. I am also sorry to hear about your father. I find it very difficult and my father passed away 14 years ago. Hope you are okay and I am glad to see you have found how simple things can really bring back those wonderful memories. Good luck for the future.

Thank you
