Thursday Thirteen!

Filed under: Thursday Thirteen! — dawn @ 12:07 am

In Honor of Eldests 13th Birthday…

Thirteen things that Eldest Loves…

1. LaCrosse. This is the third year that she has played LaCrosse and is one of the older girls now. She doing so well, and has even played as a wing. (Those are the girls who can run the whole field)

2. Young Women. This is a group that she belongs to in church. They are a good bunch of girls and have a great time

3. Neopets. Eldest and I both have an account. She is able to talk with her uncles and her friends from school.

4. Civilization 4. She learned to play the game after watching my and her uncle play. She has gotten quite good

5. Lunch Choir. Eldest has been a part of Lunch Choir since early this past winter. She joined because her best friend joined, Now she just loves it and hopes to be in Show Choir next year

6. School. No really, she likes school, and her teachers. I hope that this continues for her. She is doing so well. I am a very proud Mom

7. Friends. Eldest and her best friend dont get to spend alot of time together during the school year. But they make the best of the time they get

8. Reading. Eldest is like me, she loves to read. I hope that this also continues

9. Paleontology. Since Eldest was 3, she has always loved dinosaurs. She cant wait till she is 15, when she can do a summer internship at the Philadelphia Natural History Museum.

10. Settlers of Catan. This is a board game that she really loves to play. She has even gotten Dad to play a board game!

11. Lizzy. Lizzy is Eldests pet Leopard Gecko. like the one on the Geico commercial, the one that licks its eye. Lizzy has been with us for 3 years and should be able to go to college with Eldest. They have a life expectancy of 20 years.

12. Kitties. Eldest shares my love of cats. The only time that she doesnt care for our furry friends, is when Socks kicks her out of bed. Yup, Socks can actually kick her out of bed.

13. Family. Awwwwwwe, What a good kid!

She sounds like a great kid — I hope I can be as lucky when I finally have one of my own! :)

Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by my blog! :)

I am very blessed. I hope that you are able to have a child like her. I was asked by a friend, what I had done to get her to this place. I am not truely sure. I am not her friend, but I do encourage her to talk with me, and I dont get mad when she is trying to talk with me…no matter what the conversation is about. We have a ‘girls night’ aobut once a week. She has Young Womens and after that we go to DQ or Dunkin Donuts for a little treat.

lacrosse is a big sport in our household, not a common one, especially for girls.
my daughter has a neopets account, never thought to get one myself, she loves the games on it.

My son will probably go into LaCrosse to, he is a bit young yet though. I originally got my neopets account to keep an eye on her. We keep both computers that are linked to the internet in the livingroom so I can keep an eye on her, but I wanted to check out where she is hanging out. I have banned the boards…but that is our rule.

Happy 13!

My son loves school, too - and reading. Today is his last day and he made all A’s all year - I was/am so proud!

Awsome! Eldest is doing pretty good, not A’s but I am not strict about that. I want to know that she is doing her work, and she is trying. Sometimes all A’s isnt going to happen no matter how hard she tries. Congrats on the last day of school. I know mine are looking forward to Summer vacation

I should hasten to note where, in my own case, the Thursday Thirteen is more than likely to be a sporadic thing–a novelty, more or less. Expect this to be the case with moi.

And even if it requires a bit of scrolling down the page to find the Thursday Thirteen, I trust that the effort will be rewarded.

That is fine, I am trying to remember to post mine. I will look for yours

She sounds like a great kid! I love to sing and read too, so we have a little bit in common, but that running thing in Lacrosse, well, that’s where our similarities would end! Thanks for stopping by my 13!!

Yeah, I am more of a point guard person myself. (alot less running) And thank you for dropping by here

She sounds wonderful…esp since she likes school. It’s hard now-a-days to find a child who is passionate about their school work.

I agree, she has always loved school and learning, I know it will help her in the future

OMG! I LOVE Civilization! I started playing it 20 million years ago on DOS. Found out that it REALLY helped out in history courses! Happy Birthday Eldest!

I started playing with the first DOS Civ too. I love playing Civ, but it does take up alot of time…and I dont sleep :)

Thank you
