A couple years ago, my family “fostered” catepiller/butterflies. Usually, we brought home the little catepillars and watched as they made their crystalis’s and then became beautiful butterflies. As it has cost alot more in gas than it did a few years ago, we have not fostered any butterflies in a while. But, the great, great…grandchildren of the butterflies have returned to our gardens

My mum used to foster butterflies when we were kids. She’d send us out to the field on our trikes to collect the big stripey caterpillars on the milkweed plants and she would stick the crysalis’s over a doorway. The magic of watching the butterflies emerge is one of my most vivid childhood memories. I hope there are lots of other parents who do this for their kids, too.
We havent fostered any butterflies lately, but I think that we might go up to Magic Wings this Friday and get some to bring home. I have seen the butterflies again, they are enjoying my Cone Flowers, and some other flowers that I am growing in my garden. My children Love to see the butterflies emerge, it is always exciting to see.
