I don't know if that is a possibility for you, but that was what was on the news here last night. I have gone through the kids closets and dressers and we are finding more and more clothes to donate to the Salvation Army. There is also a call for tents/tarps, and non-perishable items. I do not know anyone in any of the affected areas ... at least that I am aware of. But to watch these people who have no homes left, no clothes, no food, no water, no sanitation, no jobs and not even access to their bank accounts or communication with the outside world is to watch a horrible thing. On a small scale it is devastating. On the scale it has been seen this week is beyond devastating ... it is simply overwhelming. How these people will ever get back their lives is beyond me. Those that left before the storm have nothing to go back to ... and the ones that stayed either died or have to leave now because there is nothing left. This was not a good week ... yesterday nearly a thousand people lost their lives while making a pilgrimage to a shrine in Baghdad. How sad ... all because someone yelled that their was a suicide bomber in the crowd of many thousands if not millions walking to this holy place. Suffering seems to be the only thing in our minds today. Abbas ... how nice to see you here! <strong>It has been a tragic week. So much sadness. If we could only take heed from them and get the hell out of dodge just like them, I'm sure we'd be better off. I have noticed, especially with my cats, that they do have the ability to know when to get out of a dangerious situation. It has been a while since I have had a cat, and Socks actions last night reminded me that we should pay closer attention to our pets. Hello! I am always happy to meet new people and it still amazes me that so many people can see what I do here. I Love Mama Mouses sites, she always has thought provoking posts to read. Katrina left a real big mess down in the south, Lots of people were left without homes, and possessions other than what they could grab as they raced out of their homes, before the water got to deep.
