Cats Meow

Filed under: Cats, critters and other pets — dawn @ 1:39 am

I swear that my cats talk with one another while I am not looking. Earlier, I clipped Socks talons, and from that moment on Blackie will not come near me. Blackie is not fond of getting his claws clipped at all, so I try to take care of all the cats claws at one time, usually about once a month, along with their flea treatment stuff. I clipped Socks talons early, as he has spent a lot of time sharpening them lately, and I thought that I would grab Blackie really quick and make sure that his talons were not sharpened.

Oh well…tomorrow is another day.

My Mr. Doo acts as if his “power” has been eliminated whenever I clip his talons. He sulks and pouts for a couple of hours. I’ve not clipped his nails in months simply because it requires a SWAT team!

The boys, Socks and Blackie, have to get clipped once a month, or they would hurt someone. When Blackie arrived his talons were so sharp they were like little pins. So, even though they dont like it, it must be done.

Not only do cats talk to each other while you’re not looking, they share trade secrets and plan mutinies, too! Ever notice how one of them always has to use the litterbox right after you clean it? Or how in the morning, one will jump on you in bed, while the other starts knocking stuff off the dresser? They get together and plan it all! :-)

That is funny. My three are always waiting like impatient teenagers at the bathroom door, just waiting for the box to get cleaned. Then, one at a time, they go in.

My two do that too. I clipped Max’s claws the other day and Aries spent the rest of the day hiding from me.}:)

I agree with carole though I have to say… as wicked as my kitties can be.. I wouldn’t have them any other way (well that’s a lie I’d maybe have them a taaad less stinky when they use the tray.. that’d be nice) xxx

I totally agree, my cats are definately a part of my family.

Cats also sneak communication to dogs and vice versa. With a household of both, I know there is no other way they could find out what I do not want them to know.

the cats are probably trying to get the dogs to do something the cats really want to do, but they dont want to get caught.

You want to witness something eerie? The other evening I went into the kitchen and 6 of our 8 cats were sitting in a circle looking at each other silently. And they say that ESP is not real!

They are conspiring….

Too funny, I have a diabetic geriatric cat (although you wouldn’t know it at 5 am in the morning…when he starts his wake up/snooze alarm function talking/meowing every 5 minutes until I finally give up and get out of bed to feed him and give him his insulin) and a dog. Helper, our cat is so very vocal and talks to me all the time, though I don’t think I alwys get what it is he’s trying to say. Our dog and cat are on easy terms with each other, though I’m not sure they conspire….

Growing up we had a cat develope diabetes as well, he was great, but he really did want his shot on time. Abby is funny, that is about the only time she will get within arms length of me, but even then I cant touch her
