Something to see

Filed under: Just Me — dawn @ 10:55 pm

A town close to me, literally and figuratively, is having something of a “Stampede”. 43 horses have been let loose in town. It has made the town a bit of a tourist attraction and makes even me look like a tourist…with my camera and a map, trying to locate the horses, pulling into parking lots…

Unfortunately, the weather and my camera were conspiring against me, so I only was able to take 3 pictures that were any good. (My digital camera is really on its last leg, and it was very cloudy) The pictures that I have here were taken by kkuhlct on webshots. Please check out his site, his pictures are truely awsome.

So, if you just happen to be in the state of Connecticut with a little extra time on your hands this fall, you can check out the horses. The towns website can be found Here, there you can find a map, and a little more information about the horses. I will, hopefully, have more pictures for Thursday, so you can drop by and see them. Thank you for visiting, check this out

They’re so pretty! We’ve got something similar in Manchester, only they’re not horses, they’re cows. I like the horsies better though.

We had cows in another town, West Hartford. I like the horses better too.

How cool :) They did something similar here in Richmond, VA, only for some strange reason, they chose fish. Sort of like the cows out in California … some pictures can be found here.

Fish? I have fish too…

Oh cool, I particularly like the horse with horses painted on it. The sunset makes it look extra cool.

It is, there are a couple more horses with horses on them…

Enjoy!

That is cool but a tad bit cruel!

I agree with you about it being cool, but I am not sure I understand cruel

Hey, Dawn, just shoot me in the foot. I didn’t accept your post and didn’t realize that you were a previous bidder until I accepted someone else’s blog. Please don’t let this stop you from putting in a bid in the future. Thanks for bidding and I am sorry.

Love those horses, too!

LOL no problem, I will try again

Here in Vancouver, we have the same thing. Except we have tall bears. They are such a major tourist attraction in the summer. And you can find them outside almost everywhere. Including Starbucks.

Sounds like fun, I actually really love seeing the horses. I am sure that bears would be cool too

My hometown has penguins. Each one is in front of the business that donated the money for it and the business gets to decide on the theme. For example, a local orthodontist has one dressed like the Tooth Fairy. They are cute, but the painting on your horses is much more detailed and artistic. Love it.

that is basically what was done here, most are infront of the places that sponsered the horse. and then they get to pick an artist and design. I love the idea of Penguins though…sounds neat

Hey, Dawn! Put a pretty horse on my comment! :D

I know there was a campaign in Omaha like this a few years ago. It was a figure of a man, kind of stick figure in shape. The imagination these people had was amazing.

OK here is your horse!

yours sounds neat to. I just think that it is really neat to hear about the different types of things that everyone has done.

that sounds neat too
