Finally, all the nasty political ads are over! I cant tell you just how happy I am.
Today, the kids had the day off from school. In my town the schools are used as polling places, so they always have the day off. We went off to the craft store. The kids got a couple of projects and I was able to get the makings for a project as well…
This is a picture of the craft that I wanted to make…The picture of what I did make I will be saving for Thursday.
It is going to rain like crazy tomorrow, so I am not going to get much done outside. I still have to get the bulbs into the ground, but that can wait for Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile…
This afternoon, I opened the bread drawer and found evidence of a mouse. So, I have unleashed the 3 felines, in hopes that their superior hunting skills will…um, catch the critter. My real hope is that Socks or Blackie finds it and Abby…um, terminates it. Socks has already proven that he is not the “killer” and I dont think Blackie would off the rodent either. Abby, however, had to hunt to stay alive for 4-5 years.
I really dont mind the mouse, in fact I would be very happy to find the mouse Outside! Basically, I dont mind to many things, like spiders, and mice, as long as they stay where they belong. It is when they move inside that I have a problem. For tonight, I have opened the cabinets and pulled out the drawer, Blackie is supervising the kitchen. In fact, he has been watching the kitchen for the last few days, so I think he knew something was up.
Tomorrow, I will let my little 4-legged hunters down into the basement to explore to their hearts content. The only thing I can figure is that the little stow-away, might have come in through the garage, as that is the only door that is opening on a regular basis, and, on occasion, has been left open for extended periods. I havent noticed any other openings to the outside, though I am sure that they exist.
My ankle is doing better, my foot is still swollen a bit. When I went out with the kids today, it started to hurt again, but I figure I just pushed it to far. Another reason to rest tomorrow.
Oh well, I shall be careful getting out of bed for the next few days…just in case

Aww you want harm come to a poor defenseless mouse? lol
I hear ya though, when some houses got torn down across the street we had a rat problem and apparently one decided to try to live in between my 2 floors because of a crack in the foundation and had babies. Mother died due to poison I had left out, babies starting coming out which I had no clue about and my cat would corner them because she wasn’t a killer either and I’d grab it and toss it outside. Then got the crack fixed no more visitors thank you very much.
well, if the mouse wants to go back outside, then it will be fine. I, however, do not want the mouse in the house. I have to stay away from poison, because of the cats…as well as, not wanting the mouse to die in the walls or some place like that. I am considering putting a humane trap in the cabinets and the basement. But I am not going to be able to get them for a few more days. My ankle is just not going to take it today.
Thank you for your comment. I am glad that you are now “mouse free”, I hope that you stay that way

We too are currently suffering with a mouse problem. We did inform our landlord but as of yet he’s done nothing to solve the problem. However, I’ve found where they’re coming in and have blocked the hole temporarily. So far it’s done the trick. I say temporarily because we’re moving out on the 1st of next month.
On the day we move out, I’m unblocking that hole Babeh! Let the next tenants try and deal with it! I hope they have more success than we do in getting the landlord to do something about it.
we just moved in, so we will be here for a while. I hope that between the traps and the cats, the mouse will go away…one way or another.

And will the kitties bring you the dead mousey? I’m not sure mine would know what to do if she caught one.
My TT is up.
Nothing yet…but all my cats in the past have, so I will have to wait and see
