My little glimmer of Christmas Spirit. Believe it or not, it was brought to me by…MiMi
MiMi has a wonderful, but sad story. She is about 3 or 4 years old, and she was declawed, which means that she can not defend herself. Her previous owners (if you can call them that) dropped her off at a shelter, she had, and still has scabs and scars all over her face and neck. It is thought that the injuries are thought to be by either another cat or dog.

MiMi is scared of other cats, and I dont blame her. She needed a nice home with older people, where she could be pampered, spoiled, and just plain loved. She spent 4 days at my home, on her way to her new home, and I was given the pleasure of taking care of her. MiMi was so sweet. she is so accepting and just craves love. The pictures of her in this post were taken by me, while she sat with me on the couch.
.
She only wanted one thing from me, love. Knowing that she was going to her furr-ever home, was wonderful. As much love as I gave to her, she gave so much back to me. Look into those eyes and you can see she just wants to be with you. It isnt much, but it was so precious to me. As she layed on the couch next to me, I think she did more for me than I could ever do for her.

I have been fostering cats for about a year now. I have to admit that it is both the most rewarding and the most frustrating thing I have done in a long time. I know that the cats I have here are wonderful, that they would make great additions to many homes and make many people really happy. But more often than not, my foster cats are not chosen. My cats and foster furr-babies have FIV which makes it very difficult to place them. As a matter of fact, my first foster is now my third cat, Blackie!
I think I have now found my Christmas Spirit, it came in the form of a little girl kitty.

Nice pictures of Mimi.
Now that you have your little glimmer of Christmas spirit, What can we expect? Maybe something yummy for your husband to bring to work to share?

I think that what you are doing for these homeless cats is wonderful. I have 2 cats of my own (one who looks just like the black and white cat on the left column of your blog!), both of whom have come from legit animal rescue groups. I have considered becoming a foster parent as well, but I reside in a fairly small apartment and already have 2 cats, can’t wait to move next summer so i can start that up!
Thank you. I hope that you are able to foster cats, it is really a great feeling to know that I can help in a little way, I know you will feel the same. It is defiantely rewarding.

You are a true cat lover, and Mimi is simply beautiful. Cats give you so much more than you can ever give them! Happy holidays to all of you
I like the saying that a cat can heal people in a way that medicine can not. Just hearing them purr solves alot of problems for me. I am really happy that I can do this and be a part of their lives…even if it is only for a hour, day or two

She is just beautiful, and she almost has the look of a lioness as she lays there on your sofa. We too, finally have our Cat home, whom we adopted from the Sara Society, and she’s just wonderful.
I too would love to be able to foster cats, but unfortunately, my partners allergies and mine can’t withstand more than one cat, especially in an apartment.
Keep up the amazing work. It’s thanks to people like you that give these gorgeous animals a second chance at life.
Thank you, she does look so much like a little lioness. She has the greatest personality and I know that she will be happy in her new home. I will be posting pictures of Patches soon.
