Patches

Filed under: Cats, critters and other pets — dawn @ 4:13 am

Yesterday, I was able to help in a very small way to help Patches go to her Furr-ever home.

Well, as promised…here are the pictures. I didnt have a long time to take them so, they arnt as good as I would have liked. My camera is awsome, but when I take pictures of the cats, I use the camera attached to my computer, so that I can use my computer to help with the ISO and flash. These pictures were taken without the computer, as I didnt have the time I would have liked. But they are still nice.

Beautiful shots all of them..I always have the hardest time getting good pictures of my cats with my digital..especially at night and indoors..they always seem overexposed.

The head on shot of Patches is stunning..what great eye markings..and what a serious look..she’d out stare me with tht one. Aren’t they just the best though.

Happy holidays to you both.

I found that using the “auto” setting on the digital camera, is not always the best. I currently have a PowerShot A-70…they dont sell it anymore (and I am getting a new camera for Christmas :) ) I found that using the computer, I can play with the settings and get some really awsome pictures…like the ones of MiMi. Patches is such a beautiful kitty, it is a shame, actually, I wasnt able to find a picture of her that showed her markings as you would have seen them if with her.

I do usually take more than an hour to photograph and edit the pictures. I usually take a set of pictures, see what I really have, then take more. It is a process that takes extra time, but it is wonderful when I find the pictures that truely catch the cats personnality

Oh dear..I’m sorry I think I missed something..after re-reading “I was able to help in a very small way to help Patches go to her Furr-ever home.” I’ll have tolook over your earlier posts..I hope it’s not what I’m thinking..was she ill..aww no..so saddend if that’s the case. Even after seeing her just this once.she connects trough the pc..a special kitty no doubt.

They all are.

Patches is not sick, she is a shelter kitty. I am a foster-mom for FIV+ cats for a local shelter. Patches was one of my “passing through” kitties, which means that I helped get her from her Foster home to her new Humans. She is indeed a wonderful girl. Just minutes after giving her a bath…remember cats hate water…she let me hold her! She is a very striking girl, her markings are so unique and vibrant. It was more a blessing to me, to have had this small amount of time with her.

Whew..okay I read your post from the day before..had quite the scare there…Patches ha found her forever ‘here on earth’ home. YAY YAY YAY! Plop plop fizz fizz oh Patches what a relief it is.

Yea I’m being silly..but good news makes me that way somtimes.

They are gifts to us one andf all..and the way you choose give back to these creatures is admirable..something to be very proud of.

Sorry for taking up 3 comment boxes..next time I’ll be sure to check earlier posts, et al..before assuming the worst.

=^. .^=

LOL…no she is at her forever home, here on earth. Her humans are wonderful people and I am sure that Patches is in a good home where she will be loved, pampered and will have an awsome live.

Okay now I am absolutely sure you’re confused.because I certainly am. I just rechecked what I’ve written and realised the first comment I left is not there. Originally I left 3 posts..but as the first one is missing..the last 2 (above this one) make little sense.

Basically it said I loved your photo’s…especially the head on shot of Patches. Her eye markings were stunning and I thought she could out-stare me anyday. Also wrote how I have the hardest time getting any good shots of my cats with a digital..they always seem over-exposed..or at least the night ones do.

Then I went on to wish you and Patches both a happy holiday and signed off.

I then went and looked at the pictures of Patches again and re-read thfirst line in your post:

“Yesterday, I was able to help in a very small way to help Patches go to her Furr-ever home.”

By that I thought you meant you helped Patches cross over..as in she passed away.

Hence the 2nd and 3rd posts which are actually the 1dt and 2nd posts now (this is the the 3rd).

Why does it sound/seem like I just went and made it all more confusing. Hehe,l I’d better stay home today if this experience is any indication of how my day will go.

My apologies for any confusion I may have caused.

Lost in Montreal (obviously).

Mary, Thank you for your comment(s). I did get them all. I have had to put the spam blocker on high, as I get all sorts on nonsence. Nothing is erased or deleted without my looking at them. So I really do have all 4 comments and I appeciate the time you took to write them all.

I really love my cats. and I am just so happy that I can help with finding these poor lost little souls a home, especially during this season. Even my Fosters will have Christmas. I wish I could do more, but I cant.So what little I can do, I do with a happy heart.

Thank you again, and I am sorry for all the frustration that you went through trying to make a comment on my site.

Appreciate the response Dawn..no frustration or need to apologize..I’m just happy you understood all my rants.

I can tell how much you love them..and am glad to know there are people out there like you who bring kindness love & joy into their lives. I try here too..have 7 much loved kitties..6 of which were strays..like you I wish I could take them all. Alas life gets in the way doesn’t it.

They bring so much every day..they’ve made me a better person.

Angels I tell ya angels.

They certainly are angels. I really do love them all so much…even my two naughty boys, Duke and Bruno.

Duke is a wonderful boy, but he is really scared of other cats, even his own shadow. He is going to make someone a wonderful boy. I think he is slated for an older couple or person. He loves to be loved. Bruno, is a great little (15lbs!) boy, but is learning “house rules” he has not lived in a house and doesnt know his manners. The biggest problem with Bruno is that he has fought with my cats…which makes socializing a bit of a problem. Oh well, we will have to see what happens.

Meanwhile, I have had the little a couple of kittens here for short visits, on their ways to their new homes. Mimi, Hey You (I hope that his name has changed) and Patches, are the lucky ones. I am so happy for them
