A movie title that would best discribe my basement after this rather rainy Nor’Easter…”A River runs through it”. Well, maybe it wasnt that bad, but it did cause alot of problems.
We are drying out slowly and I am getting ready to seal the basement with some masonry sealer. I hope that it will keep some (dare I hope…all) the water out of the basement. This whole thing has gotten me to work on those boxes that have been sitting in the basement since we moved in. I would like to get everything into plastic totes, but that will all depend on cost. I gotten several totes already filled with some things that were at risk from being destroyed by the water.
We have taken in a couple more cats.
First, we have Garfield. This poor boy was rescued after his owner was arrested. Garfield was without food and water for 10 days. Garfield is a part Maine Coon, so at 9 lbs he is about 7-10lbs underwight. I can feel his bones under his fur, which makes me very sad. Garfield is a great boy, and so friendly. I go down and all he wants is to be picked up…and he purrrrrrs soooooooo loud! I am hoping that Garfield will be going to his new home tonight.
This is Justin. Justin is a great boy too, he loves to talk and loves attention. He is such a sweety, he loves to be picked up and is a talker. Justin has a great personality and I hope he finds a good home soon.
This one is Mike, he is a nice boy and friends with Justin. He has such wonderful markings…big swirls on his sides, and a white tip to his tail. He loves attention, and is always coming to see me when I visit with him.
I have also brought home a little boy named Sugar. Such a sweet boy and a real talker. He also has the swirl markings and great markings to his head as well. I will be looking up a few breed specifications to see if he has the correct markings. I went to get Sugar from the vet where he was being boarded for a little bit and on the way home he, literally, held my finger in his paws. I will be taking pictures of Sugar tonight if he doesnt get adopted.
As I said above, Garfield will most likely be adopted today, as will one of the other three boys. I am so happy for these little guys and hope that they all find their homes soon.

Garfield reminds me of my Willie who I lost back in August to FIV and Fhlv. I hope he (and all your other fosters) find wonderful homes.
Oh, I’m sorry to hear of your loss. All of my three cats are FIV+, and thankfully healthy at this point. They are still young though. And two of my fosters, Duke and Bruno are also FIV+. Bruno recently had 12 Bladder stones removed, but he is doing so well. His temperment has changed as well, which has helped his chances of being adopted.

They’re all lovely. Our cat thinks he’s a dog. One time he chased a large German Shepherd across our yard and woe betide you if you’re late feeding him. He sneaks up all friendly like… climbs into your lap and them headbutts you right on the bridge of your nose!
I hope all of these find lovely forever homes soon.
Three out of 4 of the new guys were adopted today! We only thought that 2 would be adopted…what a nice suprise!
I hope that they do find their homes. I have another 7 to go! One of the fosters, Willy, is waiting for his family to get back from their vacation, then he will get to go to his new home

I thought you fixed the basement after you moved in…
you crazy cat lady, you!
well, um, no…we didnt fix it. We tried window well covers, but that didnt work. The owner had special covers made…and that didnt work. The water is coming throught the floor at this point. I have sealed a few points where the water was gushing in, but the water is still seeping through. I will have to seal the floor as soon as it drys out
I know, I know…I have alot more cats here than I would like, but it is all for their good. I had three adopted today! I am so happy, we were only adopting two, so when the first family decided to take Sugar, I was so happy. I think Sugar knew that they were his humans, he wasnt going to let them take off without him
