Two of my foster-babies went to their new home today.
Nikki has been with me since about February this year. Nikki came to me with Oreo. She loves to watch out windows, and loves to play with whatever little ball of paper or little fake mice that she can find. I know she will be so happy in her new home.
Next, Justin. Justin has only been with me a little over a month. He is a really nice boy, very easy going and very playful. He loves sleeping in the sunshine and just loves attention. He has always a great personality and is able to brighten your day.
They were adopted by a nice family and I am sure that they will have a wonderful life from now on. Thank you, Justin and Nikki for being a part of my family and thank you to the wonderful family who will care for them now.

Hi Dawn!
Lisa told me about your website! I love it. I’ve been looking at all your pics of Nikki and Justin. We are having such a wonderful time with them! They have settled in just perfectly. We changed Nikki’s name to Posey! Our dog’s name is Snickers and we call her “Snicky” or “Nicky” so hence the name change. She bonded with us much quicker than I thought she would. She was on my husband’s lap cuddling the first night! They now have freedom to explore the house. Justin has a handsome royal blue collar and Posey’s is lavender (safety of course!). We got them with tiny bells on them so our other cat could hear them coming and wouldn’t be surprised by them! They all love exploring the basement where their food and litter is kept. They like the cat door to get there. Justin loves to sleep in my son’s room in a little cat bed we got him. Posey seems to like sleeping in Rachel’s room on the foot of her bed. Justin was tearing around in the middle of the night one night chasing a toy mouse around!
I think what you do fostering these cats is so wonderful! You give them such a nice home until they can find their forever families! Thank you so much for doing this! We feel so blessed and lucky to have found these guys! I call them ‘Brother’ and ‘Sister’ when I’m talking to them. My older cat seems to like the companionship already and has been so much less vocal. Since our male cat passed away last fall, the has been wandering around the house talking SOOO loud all the time. I think she has been so lonely. There has been very little hissing on her part and none with the new guys.
I’ll keep you posted on how they’re doing and will send pics!
Keep in touch!
Heather
I am glad that you got to see their pictures. I love taking pictures of my kittens, and Posey is a great napper. I am so happy that they are doing so well. The have a wonderful family…that makes what we do (fostering and the rescue) all worth it!
LOL..those were the same nicknames that I used for Nikki. Snikky Nikky and Snickers were my favorite names for her.

To Dawn and Heather: Thank you for the wonderful commentary about Nikki (Posey) and Justin, this is what makes doing rescue so worthwhile. I am so happy to have teamed up with Dawn and together we are thrilled to find wonderful homes for our foster cats because we get to meet such wonderful families like Heather’s.
Hope to see some pictures of the kids in their new home soon.
Lisa
The days when we have one (or two) of our little ones go to their new homes, makes it easier to see what good things we are doing. I am thankful for being able to foster these guys (and girls). There are tough times…but the good times all the better.

Hi Lisa and Dawn,
These two guys are just fitting in better and better each day! Posey is an incredible hunter and has chased down every bug that has flown in the door! Justin’s favorites are the toy mice and has been up chasing them around all night long a few nights! I just get such a kick out of him doing it, you can’t help but smile even though it’s in the middle of the night!
They each have a little cat bed and they really love to sleep there. Macy is so happy to have their company!
They are getting along very well.
All three sleep together in my room on the bed some days.
I just can’t get over how friendly these cats are!
We are looking forward to our extended family meeting them.
Take care,
Heather
I am so happy that Pokey and Justin are doing great. I know that they have a great family and they are so lucky to have you and your family.
