Sitting, Watching, Praying
There is not much to say, as we watch in awe of the terror that has gripped the stricken states that Katrina has visited. To say that I am saddened, would be an understatement. I am shocked at the amount of destruction that this storm has wrecked in the past days. What Katrina didn’t take during the height of the storm, the water took yesturday.
My prayers today have and will be with those who are trying to make it through this storm and its aftermath.
I rarely do this, but I am adding to this post. This morning (1:30am) I took Socks (my cat) out for our nightly stroll. Socks was out the door before I, but almost immediately, he sensed something strange. The wind has picked up, the clouds are speeding across the sky, the humidity has risen quite a bit…Katrina is here. Not the terrible storm that was responsible for so much heartbreak, the remnants are now over the midwest and northeast and bringing the memory of her to us. The winds are just a figment of their earlier strength; the rain just a lingering memory of what was a torrent. Earlier today, there was no wind, not even a breeze, but there was also no birds flying about, it is almost as if the animals knew something was coming and that she was not very nice. Socks did not settle the whole time he was outside, I petted him and his muscles were all tense. I didn’t have any trouble tonight getting him to go inside…
