well, I started the day by trying not to slide down the icy sidewalk at home and then trying to keep the van on the road…what an adventure! The kids had a delay today, which was good, because I dont think that the roads would have been passable first thing in the morning.
I napped with my co-favorite feline. I am still working with Abby, trying to get her socialized…sometimes it seems to go well and others…well, you will see.
I picked up my son from school and went to a friends for a visit, where I ended up in tears, talking about grieving …
I left there to get home in time to make dinner…hamburger helper…not a lot of thought processes needed for that (yes, I did make hamburger helper)
I took some painkillers to soothe the monster migraine in my head…the kids went to watch disney and then a movie, while I sat in relative peace and quiet.
The kids went to sleep and I got the brilliant idea that I would try to get close to Abby while she was on the open floor…so I waited for the little minx to come out into the open. She went to the kitchen to eat and I quietly approached. When I got to the kitchen she looked up, a little alarmed but I went to sit down so I wouldnt appear as such a threat to her. Well, I didnt get to actually sit down. She decided that she wasnt going to have anything to do with me. She jumped up onto the oven (thankfully cool) and knocked almost everything, but the pyrex pans, to the floor. She hit the floor and then decided to jump up to the sink area…knocking over the trash in the process. She didnt break a single plate, for which I am also grateful, and came to rest in front of the breadmaker. I was able to actually touch her, and pick her up. She then decided that she needed to hide under my chin…as she usually does (no, my chin isnt that big). So…Abby doesnt seem any worse for wear, I however have a few battle scars which I treated with peroxide and neosporin.
Abby and I retired to sofa, where her bad breath encouraged me to Google ‘Cat Bad Breath’ and now I will be making an appointment for the little minx at the vets, to have her teeth checked and then begins the next fun adventure…brushing feline teeth (somehow I feel that this will not go well).
Later today, I will be going to meet with my new ‘foster kitty’, thankfully he will not be as feral as Abby is. I am looking forward to seeing my kittens playing together.
