reflections in the mirror

We had a fairly “successful” night…or so my children would say. Eldest is at the “I dont want to dress up, but I want candy” phase, but she went to a friends house for a little Halloween party. Youngest decided that he wanted to be Spiderman.

The “returns” are in and I think that both of my children “stashes” weigh in at a healthy (?) 10 lbs each. I didnt actually weigh them on a scale, instead I used the “it feels like about 10 lbs of candy” mothers scale. This year, the little mice that…um, occasionally eat a piece of candy or two, will have to go on a diet though, as their bags are full of chocolate, a migraine sufferers nightmare.

Now, it is time to change decorations, for the next holiday. I misplaced the little fall flag though and it will take some time, I fear to find it. (or I will just get another one, as they are on sale this week at the craft store) I didnt put to many decorations for Halloween, and the decorations that I did put out can stay for Thanksgiving, I do have some new decorations for Thanksgiving though, and I really do look forward to dressing the place up a little for the holidays. I also need to de-clutter, or in other words…move the boxes to the basement. If I havent unpacked them by now, they are probably not going to be needed right away, and I can take some time to look through them and determine where things are going to go. It is so nice to have a basement

Well, the alarm is due to go off in a couple hours, so I best get some sleep.

I looks and works great…amazingly, it is an electric stove. No messes, no cleaning, no big piles of pellets or wood…

Well, moving is always a whole lot of fun. This Thursday, I will list 13 things we are still looking for

1. My watch…havent seen it since the move, and I really miss it

2. Socks collar…somehow he got it off before the move. I was hoping that it was just put in a box and it would turn up, but we havent found it yet

3. The salt and pepper shakers…havent found them yet, and they are missed

4. The kitchen scissors…I really miss them too

5. My disc case…I really want to play Civ3.

6. Some of my candles are missing in action.

7. I am also missing some of my china collection, and some collectable plates

8. The little turn table thing that sits under my laptop and keeps it off the table

9. The de-icer for the pond. I know where it is, I just cant get to in…I think

10. The lemon butter seasoning for the fish…seems silly, but the fish just didnt taste good last night

11. My crochet pattern notebooks. I bought some hand spun wool and I am not sure what I want to do with it yet, having those notebooks would help

12. My slippers…my toes are froze

13. The cord for the pencil sharpener. I am sending pencils to school with the kids to get them sharpened.

oh, and last but not least…my sanity, though I havent seen that in a very long time

I opened by beading case yesterday, I fixed my anklet, which I broke during the move. I cant find my watch, so I thought that I would make another…but I cant think of a pattern…a design…nothing. I just hope that I find my jewelry boxes soon…I really need my watch.

The week long constant headache/migraine hasnt helped much. I am constantly on the verge of a head splitting migrain, which is only under the sightest control with the help of my meds.

Oh well,

Oh, and this is the second time I have typed this, the first one disappeared into oblivion…maybe it will show up sooner or later.

Yesterday, a friend of mine and I went back to Granby to take more pictures of the horses and had lunch (and did a little shopping). It was nice to just wander and take our time taking pictures. The only slight downside, was that it started to rain about half way through our day, but even that wasnt to bad. I am going to save some of the pictures for Thursday…but I cant help but share some now

I just looked at this site and realized I havent written anything in a week. It has been a busy week, though nothing really noteworthy.

I did get the pond in the ground, then it rained and I now have to pull the pond out. The ground is clay here, and the rain washed out some of the dirt and one of the corners of the pond is now about a foot below the rest of the pond. I will “fix” this in the spring, but I definately need to stop the sinking of the pond now. The electrician came today and I now have a electric plug so that I dont have to use an extention cord to run the pump and de-icer.

Other than that…we worked a bit more on the basement. I now can get things out of the garage. I am slowly sifting through things and hope to have the “piles’ under control soon. I do love my basement. There are so many things that I “need” but dont “need right now” that I can put into the basement. Getting things organized is a definate plus. So, I have made a point to look through every box and label the boxes, so I know where it is that I put things, and I dont have to spend an hour looking for one thing …somewhere in the maze of boxes

I am hoping to find the back seat of my van by the end of this week. I know where it is…I just cant get to it. When we started moving things, I took the back seat to make a bit more room. Unfortunately, boxes were put onto the backseat and all around it. Before the seat will go into the van, I am going to vaccum the van out and possibly steam clean the floor of the van as well. The poor van certainly has taken some abuse during this move.

So, that is what I have been doing this past week…not a whole lot actually.

no, really, I cant find anything.

I know that everything is in a box…somewhere, in a box…in the basement. I got so frustrated today, that I couldnt find the can opener, that I sent hubby to get me a new one. It is ok, the old one was in really sad shape anyways. But wherever the can opener is, so is the pizza cutter…and my jewelry box…and several other things that I have been looking for.

Oh well
