We started off this year with spring- like days (keep im mind, I am not complaining about a warmer winter) only to be dropped into the deep freezer. I was hoping that the warm-up that we started this week with, would last. I was just getting used to not having to dress in 14 layers just to get the mail. But now it is snowing…I think. During yesterday, it rained most of the day, only to switch to snow about 8pm. It isnt supposed to be doing anything outside right now, but I looked out, to find it snowing again…and it is now 33F here! The only good news is that the roads will hopefully not be icy for when hubby heads to work in a couple hours.
I guess I will just have to cuddle up in the living room again with this…

Dex is doing so well these days. He is eating well and filling out. His personality has also been growing. I cant wait to spend some one-on-one time with him and let him start to explore, and try acting like a “cat” again. He has been through so much and it has taken alot of work for him to trust and explore. I am enjoying watching him become a cat again.
A friend that I have known for a few years has a new blog.
I met my friend on a discussion board that we both belong to and over the years have discussed everything from quilting to our favorite furr-children. Rocket Land is her blog dedicated to her two Furr-Kids, Rocket and Luna. Please go visit her, she is a great lady and has a couple great dogs.

This weekend has been quite interesting and busy. Saturday, Eldest had a basketball game and from there we came home, packed up some of the foster-kitties, and headed to the local Petco for an adoption fair. Everything seemed to be going smoothly when I fell over a crate that the other foster mom had brought. I have unfortunately, sprained my ankle…again. By the time I got out of there, my feet hurt, and though I didnt know it yet…that was the least of my problems.
Within an hour of getting home, I had a high temp, sore throat, and a headache…I was not a happy camper, to say the least. I am feeling a little better today, but not by much.
Duke, the “upstairs” foster cat, decided Saturday night, that he was fine with exploring the rest of the house. This is kinda funny, as he was afraid of his own reflection before. I guess that he finally was comfortable to leave the safety of Eldests room and join the rest of us. Sunday, a prospective adopter came to see Oreo. Oreo is still here, the person wants to see the other cat that he was told about before making his decision. But that lead to Oreo being upstairs. Oreo has gotten along with the other 4 (Socks, Abby, Blackie and Duke) so he is still upstairs. That has inturn lead to his best friend, Nikki being upstairs. Nikki is doing well too, though I am a little worried that I will not be able to catch her if I need to. That is one of the reasons that I didnt want her upstairs…oh well. I will have to see what happens in the next few days.
Downstairs, I now have Bruno, Dex, and Tammi. Tammi and Dex got to meet each other today. They are both calm kitties so I let them say hello. They seemed to be ok with one another. I hope that Tammi can help Dex become a little less scared of everything. If he sees her exploring, maybe he will feel like trying too.
Well, I am off to find the Nyquil and my pillows.
It is amazing what cats can go through, and still be so loving and trusting of people. This little girl only visited for a day, but she was so wonderful, when we dropped her off at her new home, she was so hard to hand over. ZuZu has a wonderful home, with another kitty who looks remarkably like her. I hope that she has a long happy life, full of catnip, cat toys, and warm sunlit napping places
Dang, it is COLD!
The current temp right now (11:18pm) is 11F. I am really happy to have this…

That is my new addition to the house…a pellet stove, which is running currently on the highest setting. By morning it is supposed to be about 5F.
